I kind of like the idea of Looney now.

I do too, with Kanter gone, Looney could play that long SF/PF hybrid like Draymond Green/Young not-fat Lamar Odom. He works hard.

I'm watching the Golden St. - Spurs game and notice that their wings are different. Golden State is soo looong. Iguodala, Barnes, and Klay. The Spurs are a bit shorter with Bellineli, Manu, and Green. Kawhi being their main "big" wing. But the one constant on both sides is shooting.I live in Houston and see the Rockets running line ups of Brewer and Ariza which is usually accompanied by big turnover margins. I just think there's something to length.

I like this draft a lot with Oubre, Looney, and Devin Booker in our range.

Perhaps Looney for his versatility.
But I'm still on board with WCS. As a shot blocker, Gobert is going to have foul trouble. I want him to play a bit smarter, but not lose any of his aggressiveness. And even as a starter, he's only going to play 30 mins. Imagine an opponent see Gobert go out, only to be replaced by WCS, That just wouldn't be fair. Favors could then get all his minutes at PF, with Booker as his backup. We'd be protected in case of injury. Of course, Jazz can also bring Pleiss or Tomic over.

So probably not the direction the Jazz go. I still think there's a good chance the Jazz make a mega deal and trade the rights to the pick. Hayward's versatility allows him to play either wing position. Heck, there were times he was even trying to guard Lillard last night. Sorry, Gordon, you aren't quite THAT fast. We'll draft a player, because a deal probably can't be made until the Jazz free up the space this summer by renouncing exceptions, etc. But I think DL is going to do everything he can to speed things up. He sees Gordon, Derrick and Rudy are WAY ahead of schedule and ready to start winning.

Toss up between Porzingis and Looney.

I've watched both of them and I think Porzingis plays with more "fire" and "hunger" that it's pretty visible on the court. I know the SF position is a bit more of an immediate need but Looney with all his potential is just lacking a bit of urgency and fire for my liking. I like Winslow too, just don't know enough about his inconsistent shooting - what's the deal with having the worst 2pt % shot in college basketball?

Damn... so you took all the really really good ones out. Porzingis and Looney should be great picks with Kanter leaving. I've been getting kind of low on Porzingis lately, but I probably wouldn't be able to resist the "potential" factor with Porzingis. The thing with Looney is, I don't really like how he's being used in UCLA and he still gets pretty good numbers.

You'd really go with Winslow, peeks?

For some reason people have gotten really low on Winslow. I actually like him a lot and I think he should be in the mix too. But for the record - as it stands right now, I'd pick Porzingis.

Kind of shocked that Oubre has zero votes after 18 ballots.

He'd be a great player to get if you trust your player development system and his character(if he's willing to be a gym rat and work hard to improve). He has absolutely monstrous measurements for the position(7'2'' wingspan) and can be a very good player if developed well...
