Indie music

Anybody got some good recommendations on good indie music? You guys should check out: Birds of Tokyo, Sir Sly, Bronze Radio Return, San Cisco, Hey Marseilles, Lorde, Bastille, Urban Cone, City and Colour, Twenty One Pilots, Bad Veins just to name a few. If you guys want more feel free to ask.

I heard of this new band recently, Metallica. You should check them out.

Oh and U2. That is a pretty good band.

I like Nouvelle Vague. Might they be considered Indie? Otherwise, I have no clue what it would be or if I like it or not.

I'm all for labeling music into genre specific categories if it actually helps me understand what they sound like, but "indie" music doesn't do that at all. Easily the worst genre label of all time.
