the thing that i noticed most on the article is the son of the 'not' agent guy that the wiz signed to a ten day to try and bring ace to them. just like the jazz picking up various friends of players to try and keep them happy. sneaky sneaky, but cost ace millions of dollars because he should have gone third and he still didn't get the friend cushion.
Based on the rookie pay scale, Cooper cost Ace upwards of 2 million per year through his rookie deal just so that he could get his son back into the NBA. No wonder Ace let the guy go.
Some Wizards fans are attributing the Shariffe 2-way contract at least partly to Travis Schlenk. He was part of the Hawks FO that picked him up initially and now he's with the Wizards. It's an "old crushes die hard" sort of situation, they posit. (Not that that it's an either/or situation with this and the Ace situation.)
