Dear Forum,

Who's your provider? I had one of those phone calls today with Comcast, one where the customer unservice rep talked me completely out of staying with them in a matter of 10 minutes.

All their stuff is back in their hands but I'm not disconnected yet for some reason. I need a new provider ASAP for my wife's work.

TIA,

p.s. I can't say that missing the rest of the Jazz games this season is going to suck.

I've had Comcast and I've had Verizon and the difference is negligible imo. Negotiate the hell out of both, asking for everything you could possibly want, see who puts the best offer on the plate, and go with that provider.

Thanks T^3. We don't have that option here. Comcast has a near freaking monopoly. Low density issues I guess.

Who are your other options? I'd guess you may be able to get what you want from them even cheaper than Comcast.

All the special programming is paid out by these guys at flat rates. It's not like it costs them money when you decide you want Showtime or HBO, and so forth. So they're going to do anything they can to get your business. It's money in their pockets every time and out of Comcasts. You can't ask for everything under the sun at $50 a month but I would bet you could haggle a really damn good price and maybe better than Comcasts. Your concerns of course would be what is their service and customer service like.

Also, if DirectTV and DishNetwork are options out there, use that to your advantage when negotiating with Comcast or any other...

EDIT: I just saw you said ISP so if you're purely worried about that rather than bundling it with strong cable programming and/or home phone, everything I said is sort of moot.

Can't remember the name, but its fiber its on orem I believe and its 50 up and down for like $50 a month. Google that ****.
