This is true if they are not abused (same with prescription drugs)..... the problem is that steroids are almost ALWAYS abused and then they have very negative side effects.
Prescription drugs get abused as well, but most people who get prescribed drugs take them as they should be taken.
With steroids that are being taken to stimulate muscle growth, usually the user abuses them due to the tempation to keep getting bigger and bigger muscles.
