Jazz are the third slowest team in the league

This is mostly due to the perimeter passing in halfcourt sets. The Jazz, despite their slow halfcourt offense, are 12th in fastbreak points per game. They're doing a decent, albeit unspectacular, job getting up and down the court.

Thanks for the clarification.

the game slows down for everyone in the playoffs.
hence, if the jazz are already playing slow, it will be easier for them to adjust than teams who play faster.
thus, it's a good thing. hope you appreciated this.

If that is true, then I think we are squandering our high altitude home advantage by letting the other team rest up while we throw those passes.
It's a good sign the Jazz are playing the long game, and slowly building a functional NBA offense. I'm a bit surprised Jazz fans are already calling for more isos/postups, which might lead to a few more wins this season, but provide very little to build on for the future. This stuff takes time.

Yep, you can see it in the way that the starters are starting to click on the offensive end. Hayward is finally playing at a consistent all star level EARLY in the season, which he has never done. Trey and Enes are starting to pick things up offensively and have strung a handful of good games out in a row. Favors and Burks have regressed since the beginning of the season, but their low points are nowhere near their low points of last season. Our bench is a complete mess, but with Hood back we have three rookies, a sophomore who got little time last year, and a mid-level talent like Booker, the only guy who has really played in the league, getting the significant minutes how was it going to be anything otherwise? Looking at that bench and seeing that we are competitive most every game is freakin' AMAZING! All that said, the defensive schemes need to tighten up, but, with more experience, that will happen.

Hood does look really promising as our future bench scorer. I love the play where he blocked Afflalo's jumper then ran the court and drew the foul, nearly getting the And-1. He missed both FT's, but it was a good looking play. He isn't an explosive athlete, and it may just be the fact that Ingles is so damn slow, but he looks pretty quick out there.

It's like learning to play a song on the piano. Gotta learn it at a slower pace before you bring it up to tempo. If you rush the speed, you make mistakes. Repeating those mistakes over and over by playing too fast only gets you a result that sounds like crap... All because you were impatient. Learn it slow first, make sure you've got it, then play up to tempo when you know what you're doing.
