Jazz nicknames poll at nba.com

...(better than Milkman, did they really call him that?)

Corbin did a serious of commercials for the local milk association. As a parody of "the Mailman", they called him "the Milkman" in the commercials. I don't recall if anyone actually called him that in a game or not.

I'm shocked they dont have Booze, Moneyman (better than Milkman, did they really call him that?) and AK47.

They are probably prevented from mentioning any current NBA players, due to the lockout.

@colton - thanks, I googled Ty Corbin, Milkman and got some results.

Also, I didn't notice it said retired players only.

Big T Thurl Bailey doesn't work as well as they think it does. I always think Big Teeth Earl Bailey when I hear it.

"Dr. Dunkenstein" is one of the top nicknames of all time in all of basketball, right up there with "Chocolate Thunder from Planet Lovetron" and "The Microwave."

That the back of Maravich's jersey actually read "Pistol," however, is absurdly cool.

I never knew Ty Corbin was the MILKMAN. Did Adam Keefe really deserve a nickname or to be on that list?
The list is missing AK-47 and the Paperboy, which are two of the better ones.

I'm pretty sure that Corbin's local milk commercials eventually grew into the national "Got Milk" campaign where all sorts of celebs were pictured sporting a milk mustache. If I'm remembering right, that's a pretty cool claim to fame for Ty.mischa-barton-got-milk.jpgmom-got-milk.jpg

The lost art of the nickname is a seriously disappointing epidemic in today's NBA. CP3, Dwill, Dwade, CB4. The lack of creativity is appalling.
