I know bits have been around on twitter, but might as well have a thread for anything interesting on this front.

Ingles, Gobert are in with Australia and France.

Bojan's Croatian team just lost in the qualifying round, despite him putting up 38 in their elimination game, so he won't be in Tokyo.

Apparently, Oni just made the Nigerian team, while Azubuike didn't. Just going from the list of players who didn't make the Nigerian team, Nigeria could make some waves if they come together quickly as a team. A lot of talent among those competing for a spot. Udoka was among those not named to the team. Others include:

Onyeka Okongwu
Isaac Okoro
Zeke Nnaji
Daniel Oturu
Desmond Bane
Al-Farouq Aminu
Wesley Iwundu
Monte Morris
OG Anunoby
Festus Ezeli

This. They should play college players like they used to. Too much invested in NBA players for the risk.

Of course internationally is a different story, but still.
 
Oni made the 15 man team. He has yet to make the 12 man team. Udoka likely didnt make it because Nigeria is extremely big man heavy. Oni could make the final cut just by being a wing.

Damn. I was hoping for Doke to get some PT against good competition this summer. What other current Nigerian NBA players are big guys? Kinda weird he didn’t make the cut.

Also sad, because he may be one of the few that actually was born in and grew up in Nigeria.

Oni just sucks. No more Oni please.

I know there is a lot to seniority but I'm sure @infection loved seeing Ekpe make it and not Doke... there is some irony there I think.

He's the only guy I actually wanted to see play.
 
Bad summer so far for Doke... knows everyone in the front office wanted a different player... gets cut from the Olympic team. Hopefully he dominates summer league.
