What's new

Jerel McNeal

Anyword on how's he's looking this summer. Has his knee healed up?

McNeal went undrafted in the 2009 NBA Draft, but was invited to play for the Sacramento Kings in the 2009 Las Vegas Summer League. McNeal was with the Los Angeles Clippers during the 2009 NBA preseason. He was waived on October 19, 2009. He played for the Chicago Bulls in the Orlando Pro Summer League in 2010.[1] In 2011, McNeal played with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League. Through 55 games with the Vipers, McNeal was averaging 20.6 points, 4.7 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game. On March 9, 2011, McNeal was called up from the NBA Development League and signed a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Hornets.[2] He did not appear in a game for the Hornets, who chose not to sign him to a second 10-day contract.[3]

For the 2009–10 season, McNeal played for Dexia Mons-Hainaut of Basketball League Belgium, averaging 15.3 points. He was released in March 2010 after drawing a two-week suspension for a positive marijuana test.[4]

On July 17, 2011, McNeal signed with Sutor Basket Montegranaro of Lega Basket Serie A.

On September 21, 2012, McNeal signed with the Toronto Raptors.[5] However, he did not make the team's final roster.[6]

On November 2, 2012, McNeal was acquired by the Bakersfield Jam.[7]

On February 4, 2013, McNeal was named to the Prospects All-Star roster for the 2013 NBA D-League All-Star Game.[8]

On March 27, 2013, McNeal signed a 10-day contract with the Utah Jazz.[9] On April 6, 2013, McNeal signed with the Utah Jazz for the rest of the 2012–13 season.[10]

The requested information implied that it was focused on the happenings this summer, but the information given was all prior to the end of the 12-13 season.

To be honest I see McNeal as a fringe story with all that is going on with the Jazz.

Oh, how about this: With Alec Burks working out with Stockton:

it would appear that he is working on his point guard skills hoping to get more time on the floor, which I support fully. Add to that that the Jazz gave Lucas a guaranteed contract and also signed a combo guard in Ian Clark to a guaranteed contract, does the team truly need FIVE players who can play the point. Also, don't forget that we have Raul Neto in line to come in after this season. Sure, I was rooting for the underdog, but he's been in and out of the league enough times that we kind of know who he is, and 'future' isn't it.

I liked the part about Jerel's dirty urine.
