What's new

Jeremy Senglin

He looks to be better than other guys like Ian Clark. I like Neto but I'd like if our 10th+ guys off the bench had a good, definable skill that we can use when needed.

Ian Clark was the defensive player of the year in his conference and at least had NBA size to defend PG's. This dude is tiny.

I don't think some of you realize how bad the Big Sky is.

Watch for Tyler Hall in a year or two tho. That guy is a lights out shooter.

It's really disappointing how so many of the schools in the league have totally let the conference down in basketball. Only two schools routinely are not in the bottom 20% in division I basketball.

I truly don't understand it. There's some decent schools there.

Montana is usually good, but they just got a new coach, so that's understandable. No excuse for Montana State to not be good, they have a great location and good school. Cal Poly should be decent. I just don't get it.

Cal Poly doesn't play basketball in the Big Sky.

Right you are. Thought they did. You get my point though.

Part of the problem for the Big Sky maybe not being as good as say it was 15 years ago is that all of the schools have FCS football and there is basically no money derived from that compared to the Power 5 conferences. Those schools have infinite resources. There is the example of the WCC but there your basketball powers are Gonzaga, St. Marys and BYU and the rest of the teams are the little sisters of the poor. Plus if you have a coach who is having a great year in the Big Sky he will be moving on for a bigger payday.

Is Weber State's all time leading scorer and is a senior. Could he be a 2nd round draft pick prospect. His field goal % from 2 and 3 looked pretty good this past year. Plus Weber made the NCAA tournament again.

Weber didn't make the NCAA tourney, North Dakota did. And take it from a Weber State season ticket holder for the past 4 years: Senglin isn't an NBA player.

Montana and to a lesser extent Montana State makes a good chunk of money through football. Weber State almost dropped football in '94 because of funding. The situation is no different now than it was 15 years ago.

I've seen Senglin in person, very streak shooting dude, the game I saw was not his best, it was one of his off nights(he shot 5 of 19 from the field), also at the end of the game he flopped trying to draw a foul and this white dude drilled a game winner and stood over him and talked **** to him when he was laying on the court, i was like oh snap! before the game he was working hard on his shot, which is what he has to do if he wants to play professionally. I agree with the sentiment in the thread that he's probably not a NBA player but could be a good international player since he can shoot the 3 ball.
