"I’ve always liked and respected Sloan. Love everything he stands for. He fiercely defends his players but doesn’t accept anything less than their best. He’s old school, but not totally lost on the culture of the modern-day athlete. He’s humble and always gives credit to those in the locker room and his assistants, including long-time ally Phil Johnson. That’s what’s really refreshing: Sloan doesn’t self-promote. He’s not running up and down the bench, pointing and gesturing. He’s not one of those coaches who MUST COACH EVERY SINGLE POSSESSION. He gets it....I hope he coaches until he gets his Kobe."

Pops is a self-styled Sloan-clone. He tries to emulate most everything Sloan does....which is why he's a great coach. Jackson is also good, but he votes for Sloan for COY every year. He's won more, but he's always had a lot more talent, too. All good coaches, and I don't think you can say either of those two is clearly better than Sloan.
Pop might try to emulate Sloan, for good reason, but he's light years ahead of Sloan. Light years. Both in demeanor and mentality. Jackson is not good, he's great. He's the best. Unfortunately. COY is a popularity game nothing more, so I don't pay it any attention. Do you?
Some would say Sloan has had his fair share of good talent, no?
