JJ OBrien article

Boylen had a culture problem at Utah. Krystkowiak fixed it.

Larry K wanted O'Brien to stay. JJ kept looking and looking. Larry told JJ to crap or get off the pot. JJ did neither. Larry wished him good luck and said he only wanted players who wanted to be at Utah. He didn't want to wait for JJ to see if he could find something better.

In the end it worked out for everyone. Utah is good and JJ had a good college career and a shot at the NBA.

During Summer League I thought JJ looked OK but nothing that he was going to take the Jazz on his shoulders to the playoffs.

IMO he showed the beginnings of being a good versatile defensive wing with size, strength, athletic ability and smarts. His jumper came and went. His passing and ball handling were so-so. That is enough for a small amount of guaranteed money and a camp invite.

So he's a younger potentially better version of Elijah Millsap? That is almost the exact description I'd use for Millsap.
