Hopefully I've embedded Andy Larsen's tweet correctly but it's an article about Joe Ingles and how he plans to spend some of his new found cash.

If you don't love Joe Ingles there might be something wrong with you.

this is great. this will sound heartless, but he could have helped his team by signing for less. but this is still great.

Pretty sure the jazz came to him with this offer. He could have gotten more elsewhere, and considering what he does for our franchise and team his contract is majorly discounted. 4 Years of his prime to help teach good poise and bball for years to come. Locked in no player option. He's vocal about the franchise, and loves it here.

You can tell I'm drunk. Almost no punctuation here. Not meant to be an attack, just defending the legend that is ingles.

Wonder how many people when presented a new contract by their employer say, for the good of the company I want less? I've never done it, no body who works for me has ever done it. Maybe you're onto something here...

Kevin Durant multiple times, Tim Duncan, Karl Malone an Gary Payton took less from LA then market value.

An nobody knows what Ingles was worth an maybe he did take less then he could get elsewhere.

That's a list of people not short of a quid. I wouldn't compare Joe's situation to that but fair play.

Especially when the person paying you is a billionaire. Sure, Ingles doesnt need 52 million, but the Miller family doesnt need to be billionaires either.

I do not have a problem with the Ingles contract but to call it "majorly discounted" is inaccurate I think. He might have gotten bit more but this is absolutely a good contract for him.

Also yes, he's awesome and clearly wants to be in Utah.

Yes they took less but they did it for personal reasons. Not the good of the company. They did it to stack a team and win a championship. Did the company benefit? Of course they did but the did it for themselves.

Also remember that the thinking was if they locked him up Haywood was a slam dunk. Joe is a good dude.

Yup, I like him so much he would make my all time Jazz squad. End of bencher sure, but he'd be on it.

I think he's earnt it tho. A good on him, he's a top bloke.

Joe took less than the MegaMax contract which was already a lot less than he is worth. Pretty much Joe Ingles is the most likeable dude in sports and all of this is consistent with how he rolls.

Every time people talk about athletes like they are all Money Mayweather remember good dudes are still out there.

I'm glad we still have Joe.

When you combine what Joe can do out on the floor, and combine it with his presence in the locker room, I have absolutely ZERO problem with his contract and I still pay him $13 mil/per even if we had already known we were losing Hayward.

To be honest, I can't say for sure that he'll even start in front of Sefolosha by the end of the year. Sefolosha has been a starter throughout his career and Ingles has been a sixth man, so for me that won't lessen his value in any way as far as I'm concerned. Love to be a fly on the wall at those inter-squad scrimmages, bet those guys get after each other. Hope so, keep em both sharp. Glad we retained Ingles, sometimes I think he made Hayward look better than he really was with those pinpoint alley oops. And of course I'm proud that he's also doing some outreach.

Has nothing to do with the net worth of the Jazz or Inlges, it has to do with future cap space. How much room will the team have to re-up the younger players? Less now. Is he worth his deal? I like the guy, and it's silly how radio guys still call him slo mo jo. You can't be slow and be a lock down defender, and he kind of is one. What the contract really does is cement his spot as at least a significant rotation guy. He's no longer the guy at the end of the bench being best buds with Dante (not Wayward, it was originally Dante)Now he really has to play to make the most of that cap space. And he will of course, he is our best and one of just a few long range scorers on the team, and I said it before, there's not that much difference between him and Jeff Hornacek. Lofty, and possibly unfair, but they seem really similar to me, and he was worth everything he got.

Not sure if Ingles' dad works PR for the Mets too, but showing Stockton some love is the fastest way to get me to like you more.
