To be honest, if I'm Quin Snyder, I'm designing rotations to make Kanter very attractive in trade scenarios. Then I have DL identify all of the young (i.e. cheap) wings that have All Star potential. Guys like Antetokounmpo, Wiggins, Beal, etc. I hope that there's a team that's not as sold on their own guy and I offer Kanter, Burke and a windfall of draft picks. Maybe every single GM laughs and hangs up. It only takes one to make a deal.
If nothing materializes, I plan on rolling with a big rotation of Gobert, Favors and Kanter and I start working out the kinks now. That plan must come with the decision that I WILL match any contract offer Kanter gets - even up to a RFA Max like Hayward. There's a legit possibility of this, and it's critical to have a plan for that accordingly. If the team believes that Exum makes a Gobert-like jump between now and next season, moving Kanter is less of a priority, because the Jazz aren't forced to chance a veteran PG to start until Dante's ready. He was impressive tonight, and I hope it continues for his development.
I'm not sure if they should or should not trade Kanter at the deadline. I legitimately think he has the offensive potential of Kevin Love, but his poor defense and sparse passing will hurt him overall. I do know that I don't trade him at all, unless I'm getting a potential star player back.
