What's new

KSL.com : "Would you rather have a runny nose for the rest of your life or cut off your arm?"

"We know what Al, Paul and Raja can do... let's see what the youngins are up to."

Wait, I'm confused. The writer says he wants the Jazz to lose games now, right? .... Playing Bell more is the only sure fire way for this Jazz team to rack up more tick marks in the loss column.

This is where I feel a little bit sorry for Corbin.

He's going to finish with 6 or 7 wins and 20+ losses for the season. He wants so bad to prove that he's got the chops to be an HC while winning at this point may not be in the franchise's best interest.

When you look at a HC's record you don't say, "oh yeah, those include of a whole bunch games that he lost on purpose" you just look at 5 wins out of 20+ games and you say damn that guy can't lead.

which is why I think, the Millers signed him to an extension right off the bat...They were basically saying to him, "Ya, this year will suck...and we know it. Don't worry about it, do the best you can for the time being, and we'll get reloaded next year."

....In the fans eyes though, ya, he'll take probably a larger chunk of the blame for the losses than he deserves.

It would be sadly ironic if the Jazz bounce right back to a 50-win team next season and Corbin is named the Coach of the Year.

All wrong. The best way to guarantee "L"s is to play Price 40 a game.

Yeah I'd much rather have Weaver over Price. Man the other night Price was aweful! Just a turnover machine! Thats what I like about Weaver. Utah just don't have any youth at the point guard spot who could run this team or be a decent backup for the future. So Im for the Weaver pick up.

And I really think that next year Utah will be a tough time to beat next year. I like the idea of Drafting Barns and Knight and then trading Harris for a lotto pick next year. Lets throw this thing into a fast paced rebuilding. Or maybe Harris/Millsap for Lawson/Gallenari/pick that would be ideal.

Hey Price had heart ok! He kept driving the lane against the Wizards and getting blocked. That's heart! Not stupidity.

before this new declaration of full-on tank mode, the jazz were fighting for that last playoff spot... in the 17 games up to the loss at memphis (the game i see as officially ending my hopes of playoffs) ty's coaching win loss record was an outstanding 5-12 (.294)

most of the record was not him "losing on purpose"

his ridiculous rotations, pure ineptness, and un-producing veteran loving ways are just as much to blame for his win record as the circumstances.

in my unqualified opinion, and from a small sample size, i don't think he does have the chops to win it all.

everyone is saying with a better roster he will win more games, well then that would indicate that the roster would be winning the games, that the talent is getting the most of the coach, not the coach getting the most of the talent.

I'm going to take solace in the fact that Popovich was a mid-season replacement and was terrible in that season. On purpose or not.

Speaking of Popovich. I did have a good time at the Jazz/Wizards game. A fan behind me, we will call him, "Mr. I know everything." Says to his friend, "Yeah I heard 'Poppy' sat his starting 5 tonight." Never heard Popovich called, "Poppy" before. Other reasons I had fun, guy and his wife next to me. Guy says to wife, "Yeah that guy is Chinese, He's 7 feet tall." Mind you, we were on row 12. Pretty obvious. He repeated this about three times to his wife. I look over and he's playing Angry Birds on his phone. Awesome. And then the best part, CJ getting pump faked and the 24 year old white ghetto kid saying, "Oh CJ! You just got lost son!" That made my night.
