SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz played a tribute video during a timeout in the first quarter to honor former player Georges Niang.

Georges Niang and the Philadelphia 76ers are making their only stop this season in Salt Lake City. Niang made a ton of progress in his career as a member of the Jazz.

After a successful career at Iowa State, Niang was taken in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers. Niang played one season with the Pacers before joining the Jazz.

He spent time in the G-League with the Salt Lake City Stars before getting called up and making the Jazz roster. In four seasons with the Jazz, Niang averaged 5.5 points, 1.9 rebounds and shot 41% from the three-point line in 206 games played with 11 starts.

Niang knocked down a three-pointer in the first quarter and played six minutes to that point.

The Jazz and Sixers can be seen on TNT and heard on The Zone Sports Network.
