What's new

Let's go!!!

But what gets the job done? They’re going to weigh the value of whatever it is we’re offering against the possibility of getting a top-10 pick sooo it might be stupid to do anything but tank our asses off again.

I’m actually quite into the idea in theory, I just think Presti is gonna be a mother-****er about it which would make tanking kinda the only other smart move.

I’d try to offer the LA pick straight across. Getting our pick back also unlocks the possibility of getting a swap from Cleveland or Minnesota, however unlikely (I still feel like Minnesota looks like dog **** too often and relies too much on aging player to be certain that they’ll be reliably good every year).

I believe if it doesn't convey next year it goes to nothing? Or is it seconds? Either way, them losing the pick for nothing could be bad.

On the other hand OKC has so many good players and picks that gambling on one coming through is probably what they do.

Exactly. They have no interest in middling or worse draft assets. They already have a million picks and worthy rotation players.

I’d give up anyone on a rookie contract other than Kessler and maybe one or two others I could be convinced on. That would be a decent deal for OKC I feel like. They would be holding out hope for pick 7-10 but the jazz would have to be a very specific type of team to finish in that sweet spot, and they risk getting nothing if we just tank hard again which no one could deny our aptitude at after this year.

Get Ainge and Presti talking and surely they can get something figured out.

I'm not sure they want literally even one player on the Jazz roster.
Damn you, you’re probably right. Man, talk about two teams at different ends of the team building spectrum. That they hold all the leverage over us while our two teams are in their respective positions, really rubs salt into the wound.
