I very much hope that they simply tell the story and don't try to politicize it.

Daniel Day Lewis is a STELLAR actor. Only beef i have is that I always imagined Abe having a low voice.

For sure...

Last of the Mohicans
In the Name of the Father
Gangs of New York
There Will Be Blood

..probably all in my top 25 list.

FYI - historians say Lincoln had a higher voice. I think we can thank Bill and Ted for the low voice Lincoln imprint.

Not to be confused with the Lincoln the vampire hunter. I thought that was what this was.

I agree Bluenote.

His performance in Gangs of New York was phenominal.

Last of the Mohicans was a good movie in its own right, but boy did it take massive liberties with the book. (E.g., Hawkeye is middle-aged, same age as Chingatchgook (sic), not a hearththrob, Duncan falls in love with Alice, some hints that Uncas has the hots for Cora, Cora gets killed not Alice, no Colonial militia story, Colonel Munro is not killed, and Hawkeye kills Magua, not Chingatchgook, etc.)

I don't know why Hollywood has to always change so much, when they could have stuck been more faithful to the book and still told a great (and IMHO) better story.
