Was thinking this draft was epic in that it gave the jazz the perfect missing piece. Gobert is a solid project that seems to enjoy basketball. Neto is very interesting.
pg - I think Burke should start from day 1. let him learn and get his knocks he will be better faster. he has that kind of work ethic. I think a great back up would be Eric maynor. with the 3rd pg I am ok with tinsley as mentor or bringing Neto over. gal mekel is an option also.
sg - a lot of posters have mentioned that burks should start I disagree, I think Hayward should start here with burks getting more minutes off the bench. Hayward can slide to the 3 for a bit and play with burks. burks could also be an option with a few minutes at pg. jerel McNeal is better then Murphy let him go. there is the possibility of switching roles with Hayward being the super sub.
sf - is the biggest weakness now. I think for the money and what he brings to the table martell Webster is the perfect fit here. jazz want shooting Webster brings that, IMO better then foye. carroll can be brought back fairly cheap. nice addition off the bench. Williams might get some playing time down the line don't care if he doesn't.
pf - favors has to be our guy from day one. he has to get more playing time to learn to stay out of foul trouble, because of that I want the jazz to bring in Thomas Robinson from Houston. I would love to give the guy a chance and he seems like a hard worker and jazz type of player. pogo stick is the deep bench here but should still get some burn.
c - as with pg and pf kanter needs to be on the floor. he needs to start and learn to score over and around the best. Gobert is a project that is a couple years away but wouldn't mind seeing him average 10 min a night in garbage time. I also feel the jazz should bring over another 7-2 guy to mentor Gobert offensively and do what they can to sign tomic. maybe Gobert defense will wear off on tomic and tomic offense wear off on Gobert.
the team I want for next year
Burke, maynor, tinsley
Hayward, burks, McNeal
Webster, Carroll, Williams
favors, Robinson, Evans
kanter, tomic, Gobert
unless Gobert stays overseas for a year then just sign Aldrich as a place holder until next year.
