No New Taxes?

I thought repubs pledged to King Norqist NO NEW TAXES? Now these ******** want to create a new tax on Internet sales? So I guess... No new taxes if it comes to folks like Mitty Romney. Heaven forbid he pay the rate that most of us pay. But when it comes to small business sellers, students, Joe Sixpack? Tax tax tax!!! That's one of the main reason why folks go to the Internet to shop. We can't afford the high prices at other places.

Why? So our state can use this money to bail out kennecott? Shut up pissed off contractors threatening UDOT with litigation? So our Utah government can piss my money away on something stupid and unnecessary?

I hate this congress. Vote these bums out. NO NEW TAXES!!! Give me liberty or give me death!!!

Are these new taxes or just sales taxes on internet sales that have previously been untaxed? In CA we now have to pay taxes on internet purchases...if the company has a physical presence in CA. I'm not in favor of high sales taxes, but brick-and-mortar businesses have an unfair disadvantage vis-à-vis internet entities that can give you almost a 10% discount just by not having to charge sales tax.

1- These aren't new taxes. YOU are supposed to be paying theses taxes on your tax return form. If you haven't been reporting them, you could get audited.

2- Because you haven't been paying these taxes, they had to enforce it differently.

3- Again, these aren't new taxes.

4- If you think any tax affects the super-rich, you are an idiot. Any "tax" hike that is given to them, is simply passed on to the consumer. We had a tax increase on medical devices (2.3%). The labs/companies that make the devices just raised their prices 10%. I am in the process of raising my prices to cover the tax. Guess who got screwed? Yup. The guy buying the medical device. Not the company owner (the lab). Not the doctor (me). The little guy. Taxes don't hurt people at the top. They hurt people at the bottom.

And the ironic thing? The cost of the device will go up 10-15%. But the tax was ONLY 2.3%.

So the companies get richer, while the consumer gets screwed.
