Too long have we stood by as other teams made a mockery of the sport of basketball by purposely losing. Too long have we let them destroy this game we know and love. Too long have teams like Milwaukee, Boston, and Orlando pee'd upon the ashes of the great Dr. James Naismith.

It is time for us as Jazz fans to take a stand for what's right. Let them draft their superstars and hoist their championship banners. We will still have our Spirit, Honor, Integrity, and Tradition as Trey Burke leads us to 9th in the West year after year. When your grandchildren ask you about the Spring of 14' you will tell them rich tales of victory over the Washington Wizards and delight in telling them of the time the citizens of Salt Lake City danced in the streets after Marvin Williams led the Jazz to the #10 draft pick.

So I ask you to join me in laying down your hopes and dreams of ever rooting for a relevant NBA Franchise, and enroll in...

#NoTankNation

Let's show the world what the Jazz are all about, keeping that 30 win season streak alive! (we're at 8 seasons now!).

This is NOT going to be easy, and there will be times when you feel like giving up, but if we press on, I have faith that we WILL experience that sweet taste of meh once more.

Can you tell me stuff about my future too?!?!?! Or does the crystal ball only work for the Jazz?

Lol ugli
Awesome

Fantastic thread.

The jazz have 2 objectives this year to accomplish:

1. Play the young guys a bazillion minutes to figure out who to keep.
2. Tank to get Wiggins/Parker.

We are somehow failing at both.

I still don't know if kanter/Favors can work. I don't think Hayward should be designed but I'm not sure. Is Burks a starting SG in this league or a 6th man? I wish I knew but we won't find out until Marvin and Jeffy are gone.

I can't wait to see the spin Jedi, GVC, and Lunatic are going to make when we are outtanked by the lakers and they obtain Wiggins/Parker while we are stuck with Marcus Smart.

In the 2013 season:
Burke is averaging 31 mpg
Burks is averaging 27.6 mpg
Hayward is averaging 36.2 mpg
Kanter is averaging 25 mpg
Favors is averaging 31.3 mpg

That is pretty good. Maybe, just maybe the talent on this team is better than a bottom 5 record. That is a good thing. But if we want to tank we need to have some of those players I listed sit out some games. It is turning out that those two goals you listed are hampering each other.

To add to this: I hate to say it but imo playing the core 5 guys big minutes > top 3 pick.

If corbin started lucas, jefferson, marvin, biedrins, and gobert and gave them all 30+ minutes per game with evans, clarke, and garrett as the backups and we ended up in the top 3 of the draft then i would be pissed.
I have waited too long to see burks, kanter, favors, a quality point guard, and to a lesser extent, hayward play and i wouldn't want to give that up.

I want a top 3 pick. I want it bad. But adding Aaron Gordon to Favors, Kanter, Gobert, Hayward, Burks, Burke and Neto (if he comes over next year) is not a bad consolation prize. Go after the best SF in free agency and add some depth to the bench and this team jsut got a hell of a lot better.

I still think some things happen that increase Utah's tank. The Jazz are within 2 1/2 games of Boston, Lakers, Kings and Sixers. One good week and we are bottom 3 again.

I honestly think we have no chance of catching any of those teams without an injury to one of the core 5

I can appreciate that our young guys play some good ball. But can you imagine the record if we had a nine man rotation like this:

Burke, Garrett
Hayward, burks, Clark
Kanter, Evans
Favors, gobert

????

There is absolutely no reason that at this point in the season we should not be playing this rotation every game. I get the whole "let's add some vets like the marv" in the there so the morale does not get completely **** for the whole season, but we have the necessary tools to tank a lot harder than we are. Lindsay just needs to make some trades and force Ty's hand.
