If Obama/DNC was serious about fairness and it isn't about limiting military votes (historically heavily repub.) then he would push for allowing everyone to vote till Monday and not limit the Military to Friday.

If Romney/RNC was serious about voter rights they would suggest allowing everyone to vote till Monday and not military only in an attempt to supress less republican heavy voting.

Thoughts, takes?

Wow, President of the United States getting involved in a state's voting rules? Get down in the mud and fight, Obama. No need to stay above the fray and act like you've got bigger issues to worry about than Ohio's voting laws.

Not hating on Obama in particular. I think he really should have let the DNC or local Dems take on this fight. It's just complete intellectual dishonesty to say they are concerned with basic fairness when it is clear this is a matter of gaining an advantage (or eliminating Romney's advantage).

Yup, it is purtely political on both sides. Neither one is truly worried about voting rights. Just and advantage they wish to gain/keep.

That's exactly what Obama is trying to do.

The lawsuit, filed by the Obama campaign, Democratic National Committee and Ohio Democratic Party in July against Ohio’s secretary of state and attorney general, asks for an injunction to block implementation of state laws that modified in-person early voting regulations. In the last presidential election, all Ohio residents — military and otherwise — could cast their votes in-person early up through the Monday before Election Day. But contentious legislation passed by Ohio’s GOP-controlled Legislature in 2011 limited early voting for nonmilitary residents, giving them a deadline of 6 p.m. Friday before the election. Military members and overseas civilians could still vote through Monday. Contrary to conservative claims, the Democratic lawsuit seeks to restore early voting “for all Ohio voters.”.

At the time I posted this I had not seena single article talk about the President wanting to give everyone up till that Monday. It was all about taking those 3 days away from members of the military. I knew Fox, which doesn't like the RPesident, would have a story readily accesible so that is why I used them.

Later yesterday, before I saw your reply I saw a story on CNN that did in fact coroborate your story. So kudos to President Obama. Mitt better hope that doesn't become public knowledge or he may have problems int hat state.

I understand this was made with the perception Obama was advocating for an unfair rule. Nonetheless, there are few issues more important than voting laws. Voting laws are fundamental to our republic.
