Bro, I'm simply speaking for the people.
Mellow, Ben10, Addictionary - all of whom are well respected long time posters here, have expressed their interest in having Chat moved back to the Main Page (if you'd care to read the Chat log).
All I'm doing is making it an official suggestion.
If it's really a pain in the backside to move it back, then fine. If it will cause a major hit financially to the site's owner, and the site's viability, then fine. If my so called "comments" are the cause of moving it out of the Main Page in the first place, then I'm willing to change my behavior. No problem whatsoever.
I'm simply bowing down before the tent of tabernacle and making a suggestion. Nothing more.
