I think I know why Portland likes to stick it to us with our restricted FA…

They’re bitter about basically trading away DWill for Martell Webster (now, Babbit) & Jarrett Jack (now, Bayless)!! I mean, why else do they keep on trying to sabatoge our team & make offers with our diamonds in the rough??
 
This is why.. Jazz against Portland at home all-time: 55-13 Jazz overall against Portland all-time: 76-61

They're our bitch and they think poisoning us with contracts that our cheap *** owners don't want to match will change that...but it wont. Portland will always be our bitch.
 
I think their goal is two fold. 1. Vent frustration from Deron trade. 2. Hope they can get us to load ourselves up with bad contracts so we cannot get quality players then they try to steal Deron.
 
The Pillow Fort? Portland is Pissed off at Jazz because of the Pillow Fort?

Really, if that is the case they could just sign the parties invovled and make thier lives miserable. Dee Brown would sign for the minimum, and they could get Brewer for a whole lot less than $9 million.

They could subjegate them to all kinds of ridiculous torture--like making them carry pink back packs all season long, or bring donuts to every practice.
 
LOL. I love that you guys actually think it's some petty personal thing.

Face it Matthews and Millsap were/are decent players and were offered fair contracts. The fact they are both Utah players is just coincidental.

Fair is an understatement. Millsap's was pretty fair but Matthews' offer was way more than fair. Porty's FO cannot be that stupid without some ulterior motive.

Not that I put much stock in the whole CP3 to Portland theory but with Porty overpaying for Matthews they can more quickly match salaries with fewer players needing to be involved.

Except in the playoffs where it counts the most.

Remember the semis in 1991 and the conference finals in 1992? Can't forget the second round in 1999 (we had ****ing home court!) and of course, the second round in 2000.

If it weren't for 1996, the Blazers would've won every playoff series in the 90s.

Certainly Portland derailed any chance of the Finals in 1992 and then a chance at maybe winning the whole thing in 1999.

Our bitch? I guess it's all perspective.
 
well u see one team spends money that isn't mine and so does the other but i live closer to utah so!! i go ballistic over player contracts here
