Portland's looking for a PG in the draft with Nets' pick

Didn't Portalnd screw up once before by not drafting BPA? I believe they chose to fill a need and let Micheal Jordan slip.
BPA is always the way to go...but at 11, you can't go wrong with Lilliard or Marshall.

Thay take Lillard 5th - someone better slides down to us. Hooray.

All depends on who will actually enter the draft. If MKG opts out then we have:

1. Davis
2. Robinson
3. Beal
4. Barnes
5. Lillard
6. Drummond
7. McAdoo

Then we'll be in the Sullinger, Jones, Zeller, Lamb, Henson territory. Which, looking at our roster right now I don't know if they can greatly improve our roster the way Lillard can (we already have Kanter/Favors/Burks are right up there with those guys IMO).

Are either Marshall or Rivers worth an 8-9th pick?!? Don't think they are. May be we pick up a wing and scoot Hayward to the bench? I'd still rather take a PG though and fill our long term need.

Well, the thinking was Q.Miller at sf. Or Perry Jones if he falls. I like Jones - just wish he could play the 3.

At PG I dunno which is best out of Lillard, Rivers, or Marshall - so just grab whoever's left with the 2nd lottery pick or go BPA and trade the veteran assets for a PG.
I wonder if Machado might be about as good as some of these PGs. ? I think he'll fall to second round but dunno how far.

Marshall's stock will not fall because of the wrist, at all.
Machado is intriguing but would be shocked if he made it into the first round.
Don't see Beal in the top 5.
Don't see McAdoo or Lillard in top 7.
Don't see Drummond slipping past 4.

Knowing what Portland's GM has said and their roster - who do you think they'll pick in that 4-5 range?

Probably BPA and trade assets. I don't know, it's just a huge stretch to pick Lillard or Marshall that early. I like the idea of Beal, as more likely, to fill the role of 'ball-handling SG.'

I'm not concerned in the least.

The way things are looking, Utah is going to completely **** this up, and we won't have any picks anyway.

You also have to remember Oden over Durant... But we probably will never know how good Oden could have been. Who says history doesn't repeat itself?

Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Martel Webster. Portland struggles with the draft.

Also, I thought that Potland was still operating without a GM--
Link:The Portland Trail Blazers are an absolute, unmitigated mess. They did well to score a likely (protected through the top three picks) lottery selection from the New Jersey Nets on Thursday, but they've also decimated their roster, lost their second franchise player of the season, all without a working general manager to oversee things. The group also fired their well-respected (if not by the team) head coach Nate McMillan. And who best to take over from here as the team's latest fall guy? A 34-year old. Makes total sense, especially when you consider that the team might end up starting a 39-year old center for the rest of the season.

and this is their new coach:
