Predictions: Jazz and NBA related

- Last year I wanted Biyombo or Kawhi. Can't decide yet on BB but he doesn't look promising
- I was not happy with the Hayward pick. I really wanted Paul George and everyone said he cant play defense. I said he will learn and eventually become an all star. Also wanted Demarcus Cousins or Aminu. Cousins is great but Aminu nothing much. Did not want Monroe and he isnt bad. Really wanted Whiteside for the 2nd round but too early to tell on him
- I absolutely wanted Ibaka, Hibbert, DeAndre Jordan,McGee or Batum and really wanted nothing to do with Koufus. All 4 of the guys I wanted have been pretty good
-Really wanted Almond and he was the pick. Ended up being a huge bust

The Hayward draft i really wanted hassan (?) whiteside.... so i beat everyone on the bad predictions.
Last draft i would have taken kanter and burks so i was happy with that outcome. (i REALLY wanted burks. I thought he should have gone around number 5)
I wanted chris paul over d-will and still think that was the better pick. (i know d will owned him in head to head matchups) Paul was rookie of the year, more all stars, on the olympic team more, always lead the league in steals and assists when healthy. And when that draft was coming up i looked at thier college stats and i believe paul averaged more points, rebounds, assists, steals, shot better from the field and free throw line. Plus he was a year younger. Was a pass first point guard who wasn't flashy and had no tatoos (ala stockton) and had no off court issues. I think we just took d will cause he was bigger.

I know everyone else in utah likes d will better and has a wierd kind of hate towards CP3 so flame me now.

Alright my draft predictions

2011 - wanted biyombo but was ok with kanter didnt want biyombo after we got 3 was high on knight though. Wanted Derrick Williams to drop was worried about kanters hands and athleticism, Still am. Didn't know enough about burks but really wanted Jimmer.

2010 - hated the Hayward pick was so wrong and glad to be. This draft was all about Monroe for me.

2009 - Wanted collison over maynor but was ok with the pick. Was very high on Blair and Danny green in the second round. This draft was pretty deep a lot of second rounders doing well in the league.

2008 - Hated the kouros pick was praying that Cleveland would take him. Was all about hibbert and when he was gone jordan. Was excited with the tomic pick missed that one. Though davon Hardin was going to have a good career really missed that one. Just think we could have had ibaka instead of kouros

2007 - Was right when I said Portland should go durant better fit. Was ok with almond but I wanted splitter the most he was the one I knew would be better. Really liked the fesenko move in the second.

I would give myself a c + just because I missed so badly with Hayward.

I'll stick with my bad predictions:

1. I will never live down my CJ/Brewer can develop into Rip/Prince. The only caveat is it got twisted into CJ as Prince and Brew as Rip. It was the other way around. But neither turned out, although I think Brew has proved pretty valuable to Thib's defensive scheme, just never developed an offensive game.
2. I said CJ would have the best season of any wing this year. That didn't pan out. On one hand, none of our wings had a decent year. On the other, CJ stunk. I still believe in him, but whatever he does from here out will happen on another team.
3. I thought Kanter wouldn't average 10 minutes this year because he looked so terrible in preseason. He surprised me a lot, and high(ish) hopes for him.
4. I'm surprised Harris didn't flourish. He played great the last month, but I really thought he would rediscover his early form here. I now think he's a very average point guard, a good scorer when he's on, but will never be good at getting other guys into the offense.

I'm probably forgetting some stuff, but those are the things that jump out at me.

enough about the past.
I predict that 3 out of the 4 following players will stick in the league as valuable role players:
Crowder, Machado, JJenkins, DMiller.

All will likely be available in the early- to mid-second round. We can still make a splash in this draft.

I totally agree with all four. Unfortunately, most teams probably do too.

Cousins is great? Laughable.

None of our wings had a decent year? Uh, Gordo?

I still think the greatest testament to Sloan and Williams ability to design and run an offense was getting Ronnie Brewer to average 14 points in a season.

1. I was really concerned about Kanter's lack of vertical after watching grainy YouTube videos. Thought he'd have a hard time scoring against length. I wanted to take a flier on Biyombo (more when we weren't picking 3rd). So partially right and probably wrong.

2. I didn't research Hayward at all in that draft as I thought he was in the 16-20 range. Think everybody I wanted was gone at 9 so I wasn't too mad about the pick.

3. I wanted to trade Boozer straight up for Tyrus Thomas.

4. I was happy Ty Lawson was slipping on draft day and then was really mad at Denver for grabbing him one pick before us.

5. In '95??? I thought Stockton was getting older and only had 3-4 good years left. To replace him I really wanted some guy named Steve Nash. He went 9 or so picks before us.

6. I also wanted to trade Jefferson for Kevin Martin and Dragic (another piece would have been needed) pre-Lowry injury when Martin seemed to have fallen out of favor.

I predicted on this forum that the Jazz would win 36 games this year. I booed the Hayward pick because I wanted Paul George. I really thought Morris Almond would be a good NBA guard. But here is my future predictions.

1. The Jazz will not make a deals this summer
2. The Jazz will not trade Big Al, and they will resign him for three more years.
3. Kanter will never average more than 12 points per game.
4. The Jazz will never use the Okur TPE
5. Harris will be our PG next year
6. The Jazz will resign CJ Miles.
