Hayward shut up haters, including myself, in preseason. Lets hope it carries over. I think it will.
If Hayward plays in the regular season as he did in preseason, he will earn his money. We can put to bed the theory that Hayward only thinks about video games during the off season.
It's clear he's logged more time on court and the weight room then playing video games. He's now shown the ability to bully his way all the way to the hoop and deliver the poster dunk, and looks like he's closer to being that #1 option, not there yet, but he's made good strides

Careful about calling Hayward a bully, heyhey might get really pissed.
.
The reason Hayward is looking so good is because he isn't being asked to be a #1 option, he is just asked to be an option out of many options in an offense that allows him to really flex his basketball IQ and instincts.
I don't think they hesitated paying him because they knew he niche within the new system, and they were confident he'd thrive in it. He was born to play this read-option stuff.
I wonder how many minutes he'll log at the 4 this year?
For those hating on Exum, he was playing against studs. All 3 of those guys are great guards. It's ridiculous Thomas couldn't find a starting PG job somewhere. Dante is going to get schooled by some of the better PG's in the league. I'm glad he got some of that in the preseason. Once the regular season begins, I expect he'll only play the backup PG minutes behind Trey, which amounts to 15-18 per. And he'll be matched against opposing backups. Obviously some will be better than others so his performance will be uneven. Not too many teams can bring in a backup like Thomas off the bench.
