Mom outraged after driver allegedly tweets photo of son’s corpse, writes ‘I just killed a man

A Florida driver reportedly tweeted about being drunk on codeine before he struck and killed a 16-year-old boy and then posted a photo of his corpse on social media.

"I just killed a man," the since-deleted photo showing Trevius Williams' body and a "RIP" read, according to local media.

Now that boy's equally disgusted and heartbroken mother is fuming over not just the driver escaping charges but a drug test as well.

"I'm angry because detectives told me that there's no alcohol or drugs involved," Connie Coles told First Coast News. "Well how would you know if he wasn't tested?"

A spokesperson for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, reached by The Florida Times-Union, said there were no signs that 19-year-old driver, Keenan Slaughter, was impaired at the time of Sunday's incident.

Slaughter's tweet, reading "I drunk so much damn lean I feel like I'm off a NyQuil," are lyrics to a rap song. The mention of "lean" is to a homemade cocktail of promethazine with codeine.

The sheriff's office further said that posting the picture of the boy's body online was not illegal.

Coles said she had sent her youngest son out to buy her a loaf of bread, around 8:30 p.m., when he was hit while apparently crossing the road.

In addition to grieving his sudden loss, she's angry that a photo of her young son was splashed on social media for all to see.

It was there that some of the boy's family members saw it, and alerted his mother.


Who does that? You have to be some kind of monster," she told First Coast News.

Struggling to speak, with tears streaming down her face, she said, "I don't even want to go back home. I don't even want to think of, I have to pack up his clothes. I have to give away his shoes."

The most difficult words, she strained herself to say, were: "My son is never coming back."

Attempts to reach local police and Slaughter for comment were not immediately successful.

but hey if black guy accidentally kills another and act so careless about the precious live lost. and yet no outrage from the black lives matter movement. i thought black lives matterred?

if people threat life worthlessly like this, you don't have a gun problem. you have a problem with how people value human live.

YES I KNOW it is legal to post a selfie of a man you accidentally killed on fb. but i don't need a judges and lawyers to tell me whats morally right and whats morally wrong.
