Rising Stars All Star Challenge

The thought of Stifle Tower and the Greek Freak on the same team (even if it's the All Star Challenge) makes me a little sad for what might have been. Could you imagine a starting lineup of Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Antentokumpo and Exum? Think about the defensive potential of that lineup without really giving up that much on offense. . . especially with Burks, Hood and Kanter coming in off the bench.

Yeah, don't go screwing around with time travel. If we had found a way to get Giannis we might not have Rudy or Exum. I'm happy with what we have. No need to go get greedy.

Rudy plays by his own rules. Nothing can hold down the Rudy. Fools better be hitting their 3s, because Rudy will eat up everything around the rim. Eat. It. Up. Yum.

That there is what will make it hilarious. The players will be like, "this is an offensive exhibition!" Rudy be like, "Screw you! I'm blocking that ****!"

If criteria is performance this year, Ingles should be in. But I think with "rising stars" theme, people think about Ingles as more mature and closer to his peak, so he may get overlooked. Assistant coaches pick, so who knows.

Wasn't Farried the MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge a year or two ago?

IIRC, Drummond had a huge game as well, just basically hanging out near the rim. There are a lot of missed shots and as much as these guys love to chuck it, they like throwing lobs as well.

With most of the rookies injured? Dante just might sneak in. But he's not a lock by any means.

Dante's a lock. The rookies have sucked *** this year.

dante will play lol most of top players are injured

Do they choose from a pool of rookies and sophs? Meaning could there be 15 sophs and only 5 rookies or something or does there have to be an equal amount of each class?

I was thinking about this the other day too. The Jazz could be well represented in that game. Just look at the possible candidates:

Trey Burke
Rudy Gobert
Dante Exum
Rodney Hood
Joe Spanish

I'm calling it now, Rudy for MVP. He will have a game that makes the rest of the league sit up and say "where the hell did this guy come from?" It's only a matter of time before Rudy Gobert is a household name.

I hope but that would have to be a monstrous game. Kanter had that 23 and 21 game or whatever (I think against Charlotte) last year or the year before and no one really took notice. Gobert would have to have like 30, 20 and 8.

He may not be MVP, due to the fact he won't score enough, but if he plays his game and doesn't go along with the "just let 'em score" mentality, he will dominate defensively. If he plays his game, I'm sticking to my claim that fans around the league will be wondering where the hell this guy came from. Rudy has something special going on, and fans around the NBA are going to start noticing more and more. I had to specify fans, because I'm sure every FO in the league is very aware of Rudy. I wouldn't doubt if DL has received calls from every single team in the league inquiring as to Rudy's availability. DL has probably had a lot of short conversations that included much laughter on his part.

id be thrilled if some rookie drives to the hoop thinking an easy lay up early in the game. Then have Gobert come out and deliver a fierce block and completely change the tone of the entire game.

Oh, you meant in the rookie challenge. My bad.

I'll bet Mozgov wasn't the first target for the Cavs. Had I been Lindsey and Cleveland called, I would have, in my best deadpan voice said, "yes, we'll trade Rudy but I'm not sure Gobert for Lebron works salary-wise."
