How much room does Royce have to grow? He’s great defensively, but during the playoffs I really started to see offensive sparks that made me believe he can be something more. How much of a step does Royce take this season? I think it could be significant. Not huge, but a noticeable difference.

Royce had a rough March, but before the AS break, he was shooting .395 from the three. It's not a huge sample size, but he also shot 45% from the three at Baylor. If he could shoot consistently around .400 at a decent volume, he'd be a tremendous weapon for the Jazz. He's already a serious net positive on the defensive end.

I believe he had a shoulder injury that was worse than they or he was leading on during the stretch he struggled. He started wearing the padded compression brace around the time his shoulder got hurt and wore it the rest of the season. I think it bothered him quite a bit during that stretch. I just felt like during the playoffs he did a lot more driving and even started shooting a bit better. I’m hoping for both Royce and the Jazz he can have a great season, and I also think he can.

I think he has a chance to become a really good 3 and D guy. He's already a great perimeter defender, now if he can just become a 40% 3 point shooter.

His offense is the key to the jazz peak/ceiling this season imo.

when will he get time? It's either him or grayson allen when it comes to play time from what i see, not sure they can both get time on the court.

In terms of wing glut, we have a ton of it mainly because they're all pretty much capable. But Allen and Royce will both get playing time methinks as almost everyone can play multiple positions. I'd like to see Allen get minutes as Rubio's backup. I think it's more about Exum vs. Allen than Royce vs. Allen at this point. Royce has firmly planted his *** in the rotation like a Grizzly barging into your camper and wanting to chill at the table until dinner is ready. But we can find minutes I think.

Royce can play SF. Allen, Donte, Royce, Crowder and Favors. Second unit. Oops! I forgot Thabo. Man minutes are going to be tough to earn.

There's some there. Assuming Crowder's shooting was an outlier last year (dude is 34% for his career) and assuming Allen finds his stroke (no reason to assume he won't), that's three players who can spot up. If Favors finds his stroke, all it good.

If what ifs and buts...

Crowder had 1 good season. He's a trash outside shooter otherwise. Allen is the only solid potential there, BUT we'll see.

I think what’s pretty certain is Donovan will improve.

I think Royce and Dante have real room to grow. I’m going to say as far as shooting Royce certainly has more room to grow, Dante’s shot is *** ugly.

I hope Favs can get to where he can shoot the corner 3 more consistently, Allen can become a better shooter, and Crowder can pick better shots. I remember Locke saying Allen actually struggled quite a bit to hit his open looks last year. I think he can be a good shooter, I’m not sure he actually currently is. I also hope Rudy has gained quite a bit of muscle and can be a little bit of an asset offensively without fumbling the ball so much. I know he heard the criticism at the end of the playoffs and he doesn’t take anything lightly, so I’m sure he’s continued to work on it.

But back to Royce, I think without a doubt he can hit more 3’s, and just needs to be a bit more under control driving. Royce seems to be working pretty hard this summer and has been around and in the gym a lot. I’m expecting some good improvements for him.

Terrible lineup. Nearly no 3 pt shooting.
Agree and for the second season in a row we are going to struggle scoring from the bench. That was our biggest weakness in my eyes and we did nothing to change that. While there still time to add a savvy vet, I think the FO is happy and really don't expect any more moves.

Not if you expect guys to improve offensively and there are certain guys who certainly can.

I think the players that will be competing for playing time are

Exum - Think he will get consistent rotational minutes
Crowder - I think he will get the second most consistent minutes
O'Neale - is next in line to get minutes just because of the way he plays

That leaves these 3 to 5 (not really) players competing for what ever is left

Burks - I could see him playing some at the first of the season to hopefully increase his trade value when or if that happens he will then get benched. It also saddens me to thing he hasn't even been brought into the discussion yet
Thabo - Is going to be a little slower coming back because of his injury and Burks will probably get his minutes at the start of the season
Allen - I think Allen is going to be the scrap player to start the season. I think he is going to struggle this season to shoot but get better his sophomore season. He is a great passer and will help move the ball on the second team and create good looks I just don't see him getting a lot time unless there is injuries. I could see however that the Jazz are just done with burks and want to see what Allen can do and he gets minutes at first that slowly move over to Thabo as the season progresses.
Niang - Last but not least he will compete for playing time but garbage time will be his destination.
Neto - Regretfully is going to be the after thought as Exum and Allen will be competing in front of him but I love this guy and he is Gobert's little buddy.

I don't think Neto, Burks, Udoh, and Niang will see meaningful minutes that much at all this year. Thabo is a guy I see us giving a tons of nights off throughout the season.

The 240 minutes will be divided among the other 10 players.
