So I'm getting tired of Age of Empires III.

What are some really cool newer RTS games?

My all time 5 favorites are Age of Mythology, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, AOE:III, Rome: Total War, and Medieval II: Total War.

I also own the Shogun Total War, but... just haven't been able to get into it.
 
Age of Mythology is also my all-time favorite.

I wouldn't call Total War series a RTS though they were more of a Turn-Based strategy.

Warcraft 3, one of the most influential games of all time. It made tower defenses much more popular, DOTA, League of Legends, HoN, and so many other games based off custom maps made on that game.

The ladder and campaign of that game was great too.

I played that game so much, until I was banned for map hacking :(.

We had a bunch of Arthas transfers back in the day. They came over thinking they were going to teach us how to play. We handed them their butts.

But back on topic. Go after Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty and Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm. Starcraft 1 is still played competitavely over seas in the Asian circuits.

Blizzard makes a mean RTS. Even Warcraft 2 from 1995 is fun.

So in short go play the Warcraft and Starcraft series from Blizzard.
