There are lots of S & T possibilities, but I thought of one that would work for the Jazz and Mike, though not sure the Lakers would do it or how it would work financially. Mike for Caruso and Kuzma? Mike gets a chance to play with the LeBron and get his ring. The Jazz get two young players who fit well for their needs. Caruso can man that second point position and Kuzma gives us that stretch four that we've been searching for.
Nevertheless, other roster changes are needed. We definitely need another solid wing defender and I'm not sure what to do with Niang who was good during the regular season but was a disaster against the Clippers. Of course deadeye Matt Thomas has got to go and what do we do with Brantley, Oni, and Morgan? Brantley hasn't gotten much of a chance and seems to have a low BB IQ; Oni was very disappointing in the playoffs -- he can't get around screens; Morgan actually has shown some good minutes at times. What about Doke? We haven't seen enough of him to evaluate him. Forest should be kept as the third point guard as he had good minutes when Mike and Donovan were out -- maybe he can develop his shot.
The center position could be the most important consideration and if we are creative could be a way to upgrade the team. I myself felt that Rudy's comments at the end of game six did not reflect well on his role because he deflected criticism to the team instead of coming out and taking responsibility and saying that he needs to improve facets of his game for the Jazz to win a championship. I know it's sacrilegious to express an opinion about trading Rudy, but I don't feel everything is copasetic with him and his teammates. Maybe I'm wrong. But this is Donovan's team not Rudy's as the involvement of DWade who is very close with Donovan indicates.
