Instead of looking at Elson, why didn't the Jazz persue Stro? Last year in CBL he averaged 22/11 and had 3 blocks per game. Though it is the China league, those are pretty impressive numbers and Stro is very good at playing the pick and roll. It's basically his largest strength.

I've been a long time Stromile fan, and I feel we should have picked him up when he had that big year in 04. Unlike everybody else here I feel he would have thrived in a system like Jerry's and would have put up better statistics and been a very good energy player for this team.

Utah should still look into picking him up, unless his CBA contract is what is holding him back from getting back into the NBA.

Elson has a higher basketball IQ and is a better fit for the Jazz. I was never impressed with Swift's passing. Meh. I'm happy with the way things worked out.

Swift is the ultimate tease - everybody goes gaga over his athleticism but he's a 10-cent brain with no real skills besides running and dunking.
Elson can play 2 positions, make open 16-footers, play good team defense and he's been on winning/championship teams.

First thing I thought when I read the first post.

You've always been an ***. You're the guy who wants to keep a team that can't get out of the second round better yet luckily make it past the 1st round together for a timeframe of 5 years. People that say Swift has nothing more than athleticism are people whom judge that off of just watching youtube or ESPN highlights.

What's wrong with Elson. I actually think he should be getting more time, when Al has been sucking it up or when Millsap is overmatched, size wise.

Why didn't the Jazz sign Luther Head instead of Bell, sign Bass instead of Mislap, draft Parker instead of Lopez, trade for Love instead of Al, or give AK that Max deal? Sigh......as our good friend Craig Bolerjack is fond of saying, "Hindsight is 50-50".

Go Jazz.

And what does this have to do with Swift?

So you think a player who washed out of the NBA is going to help us get past the second round of the playoffs. Brilliant!

He wasn't even that good to begin with and he has been out of the league for a couple years...dude wouldn't help anything

China has a basketball league? Really?

I'd take it that they do being that Asia has the largest population of any other place on the planet, and that the NBA had a 7 foot 6 basketball player from the country of China. You shouldn't try playing a smart ***, because you fail miserably and it makes me sick to my stomach.

Oh yeah, thats what my thread and topic totally explained, huh? Last I checked, the word "playoffs" didnt even show up once in any of those sentences. Quit being so arrogant, how about that? I think that would be "brilliant!" to this whole board.
