There is no other explanation for this signing other than "I-Make-Money-Because I'm-Seven-Feet Tall" fact of NBA basketball.

Happy for Fesenko, though. Hopefully, he will prove he belongs to NBA but it takes "work ethic" and "desire to get better" to have a long career. I think he would be OK playing in Ukrainan or Russian leagues. Good luck, Fess.

Actually, he could very easily get time. Biedrins is constantly in foul trouble and I wouldn't be surprised if the same things goes for Brown also.
