Basically the nations head military officer (Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff) told a Senate panel that "the Obama administration is deliberating whether to use military power in Syria...". Dempsey "...said during congressional testimony that he has provided President Barack Obama with options for the use of force in Syria."

Oh joy.

I'm not reading the news too hardcore anymore but just from general browsing day-by-day, it doesn't seem like the opposition has made any inroads recently. The media was saying it was over months and months ago. Assad lost. Now there doesn't seem to be to be any advancements into major cities...they are losing strongeholds. The stories about chemical weapons turned out to be crap. And it looks like it was either both sides using those weapons or just the opposition now.

So what was that big inflection point? They were saying Assad fled the country(or at least Damascus) and was about to be deposed last year at this time and yada...yada..yada. Never happened. I guess that's what happens when the people reporting are sitting in some Skyrise in Manhattan or London and don't have a clue what's really going on....so they fall for every piece meal report of advancement. Psyche Warfare seems to be going strong as ever.

Regardless, hopefully the situation resolves soon. And all the refugees are taken care of as well as they can be in the meantime. They didn't do anything.
