The TSA was never created to keep us safer from the terrorists. It was put into place to take away legal fault from the Airlines in case a relative wanted to sue one of the Airlines because it got blown up. The Airlines function under such slim margins that one suit would surely bankrupt them.

I see the TSA as most effective as a deterrent to people attempting to smuggle weapons on a plane than a way to detect such things. Reporting their ineptitude mostly just removes the deterrent they provided now that we all know we could probably smuggle whatever we want past them undetected.

Yep, because the bad guys probably saw the TSA as juggernaut of competence BEFORE the report. Have you ever dealt with the TSA? Seriously, wearing a Sheikh robe and a turban is probably the best way NOT to get searched, because, diversity training. Just shut the damn thing down and let each airport handle their own security.

Consistency in screening matters. And providing travelers with a standardized system helps ease people through the process. But the TSA is a huge joke.
