Actually, the real bottom line is this year was as bad as things will ever get (unless there is a change in the coaching, AD, etc). The Utes had way more injuries than you would expect, had a new OC who was horrible, had a learning curve playing their first year in a real conference, etc.Bottom line is Utah is going to be losing a lot of games for years to come regardless of who they are playing each year in and each year out.
Not sure what you think will actually get worse, but Utah just finished a season with probably the worst offense in the nation, a kicker that lost at least 2 games for them by missing field goals that should have been routine, a starting QB that doesn't even belong in FBS football, and an OC that apparently only has about 5 different plays in the playbook.
After all of that, Utah is still in a pretty good bowl game. Every single one of those things should be better next season.
Things will only get better.
