the no frye utah/pho trade

Their fans would throw a conniption fit. They like Dragic and his good contract. They don't even want to give him up if it includes Beasley and Frye (stupid, yes, but they are about as smart as the last President/Owner).

The only thing stupider than uninvolved homerdom is the idea that when you have a good player, that fits, on a good deal, is still rather young and still apparently improving, then "have" to get rid of them just to fit the idea of scrapping a team.

I'd rather have Dragic than Josh Smith and his conniption fit self anyway.

It's reasonable for the Jazz, but I think the Suns take a step back as they lose Dragic and the could probably sign Smith as a Free Agent in the off-season.

Utah sends Al to hawks and raja to phoniex.

Utah recieves Goran dragic and pachulia

Phoniex gives dragic to uta and dudley to hawks

phoniex gets josh smith and raja bell

atlanta sends josh smith to pho and zaza to uta

atlanta gets jefferson and dudley

Dragic has been a relatively good signing for the Suns. Don't know they would unloaded him (especially with all signs pointing to Marshall being a bust) for cap space/expiring contracts. They would have to get picks back to make this worthwhile.

Also don't know why ATL would do this because they are only sending expiring contracts out to get Big AL and a solid, but unspectacular starting wing in DUdley. Al is an expiring that is redundant (and worse than Horford). They would also have to be getting picks from Utah to make this worthwhile.

All in all, I would love this trade, even if it meant us having to send out a pick or two, but I don't see any of the other teams jumping on board. Especially since Phoenix can just sign Smith in the off-season with their cap-space (I believe they have a ton).

Also, figure a way to throw in Marvin to Phoenix. They have a dearth of SF's and Marvin would be able to get more touches in Phoenix.

I did a version I'm not in love with, but feel may be somewhat realistic.

Suns get a stretch 4 that they love. Get some PG depth with Tinsley. And get a SF upgrade in Williams. May need to throw in Warriors pick, or a future 1st to make more attractive.

Jazz get a young PG, but have to eat the bad contract of Fields, who has been a disappointment since coming to the Raptors.

Raptors get an ISO-offense powerhouse while getting rid of two bad contracts in the process. They get Wesley Johnson, who is the worst top 5 pick in recent memory, but him and Jefferson are both expiring contracts, so no biggy.
