Is anyone else pretty floored? He seriously looks like a completely different player out there, especially defensively. I don't have any advanced numbers to back me up, but it seems like his numbers through two games are up across the board too.

He is pesky, pesky pesky. He has a lot of experience at this venue and his time with the Spurs hasn't hurt.

Uggh. I was pretty pissed off at him last night. He hits a 3 then he passes up two wide open 3's, killing the offense and trying to force a weak DHO to George Hill with CP3 hounding him resulting in back to back turnovers. That was one of the many instances where it felt like we were about to go on a run but then we just stopped ourselves.

Other than that and his god awful reboudning, yeah, he has played decent. He'd be a lot better with Rudy out there to cover up his lack of rebounding.

Grand scheme of things though-- compared to his play through the season? Still an improvement. He shot 24% from 3, for one. lol.

Why would we be floored? Hasn't it been widely known for years now that Boris plays better in the playoffs? That he plays himself into shape and tries to peak at this time of year?

last year he was panned on Spurstalk for performing worse in the playoffs than in the regular season (see the stats) and this year his regular season stats dropped from his previous years with the Spurs. He's also 35 years old.

Diaw is the perfect example of having a player dead to QS on the roster in Trey. As bad a year as Trey had he still was statistically outperforming Boris except for one assist per game in roughly the same time. Boris is the crafty veteran that knows playoff basketball. Hopefully Trey picks up a pointer.

ok. So, because of one year + age, we should be 'floored'?

Yep, he went from goofy guy at the YMCA with a decent game to pretty decent goofy guy at the YMCA with an alright game.

Seriously though, he's much improved from what we're used to seeing out there from him. I'm not nearly as traumatized when he shoots anymore.
