With 10 of 15 teams sporting winning records so far, it's gonna be a tough road to the playoffs for the Jazz. IMO, even 30-36 would look real nice after last year...

If we were in the East, we'd be considered elite.

Its hard being within the best of the best. Especially considering we're within the crazy talented NW division.

Good news is that due to the lockout there will be less games against the East... so the Western team's record will mostly be a result of playing each other. The cream will rise to the top... so to speak. Maybe that's not good news if you don't think we'll make the cut.

Though it would be interesting to see which Western teams have the easiest and hardest SOS against the Eastern teams they do play... like some may only play Miami, Chicago, Orlando once each and NJ and the Wizards twice, and vice versa. Would be interesting to see who had that going for them.

The East actually has a better top tier, but their mid tier and lower tier teams are terrible.

I love the NW divison. Everyone thought Utah was done. Denver and Portland were questionable with Portlands Roy and Odum problems and the Melo trade fallout and guys being in China. Only OKC was really considered a lock to be good.

But hell no!

Only reason Minny is not at .500 ball is because Utah beat them. Minny!
Utah is coming on strong and the "experts" had them at or close to the bottom of the whole NBA.
Portland is two games above .500 and has stayed strong.
Denver is sitting with the #2 seed.

NW division is as stacked as ever.
