What's new

This season is going to be full of surprises

lets be real here. DL's hands were a bit tied on the FA situation last season and I think he is thinking ahead into 2019. If he makes changes then people would say he shouldn't have tinkered with what worked last year, and now we are saying he didn't make changes. Also it was DL that made the move for Mitchell, he just did some poor moves as well, but over-all he has been a net positive. I still wish he didn't wiff so hard on trey burke. He could have had the greek freak...holly cow we'd be in business then.

Also people saying this is snyder's fault are a bit delusional. Let me first and foremost say the jazz played well last season but ultimately we had a lot of luck on our sides, key injuries to denvers team, spurs, and then the pelicans lost cousins, and don't forget the wolves lost Jimmy Butler down the stretch, and DON'T FORGET THE GRIZZ with no conley last season. I knew we would come back down to earth this season, a lot of people were hyped up about being 2 seed, but I knew this wasn't going to be that season.

I mean our PGs give us NOTHING and our centers have literally 0 inside game.
1. Being upset about drafting Trey Burke is pure hindsight. Most people - fans and analysts alike - LOVED the move. It didn’t work out. Yeah, obviously grabbing Giannis would’ve been incredible. Or Kawhi. Or Butler. Or, or, or... this can go on forever, regardless of your team (except the Spurs, basically).

2. There were plenty of people that knew last year was magic and that even if it wasn’t, if you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse. I actually don’t know how many other people there were besides me that were frustrated at watching what unfolded (or lack thereof), but he’s not getting a pass from me just because the Jazz got hot to end the season, especially since they had to ink deals to keep a PG that can’t play basketball, and a big that defenses don’t care to guard outside of the paint and gums up every set in the starting lineup.

I don't remember if the Jazz ever began with such a negative record in their homecourt after 7 games (2-5).

Our homecourt was a "fort" in Sloan times.

Snyder has to change starting lineup and try something new.
I'm fed up to see Rubio and Ingles on the court at the same time and both getting always at least 30 minutes per game.

Give more minutes and freedom of game to Exum and Burks.

i think making panic moves is the worst thing to do, We need to see what happens from here on, and DL can decide what to do with the likes or rubio, burks, favors and the others who are coming off the books. It's the exact reason DL decided to put a team option on the favors contract. It's obvious.

don't need to tank, just need to float.

If we keep Crowder, Mitchell, Gobert and Ingles, we aren't tanking. We are still floating.

We have enough assets especially if we include 1st rounders to make a move to add to that core.

We gotta do something now. I'm not one who generally supports the "panic" or "overreactionary" moves. But I don't see us just working through the problems we have. Our defense is abysmal this year after being the best defense in the league last year. That's the biggest problem. And it's a major MAJOR red flag. If this was just a regular ole slump our defense wouldn't be this bad. It just wouldn't. Because defense is who we are. The rule changes ******* us. And there's no fixing it with this group. Makes me sad because this was one of my favorite Jazz rosters ever. But if we want to compete we need changes now. Otherwise we're headed for the lottery. Keep DM, Rudy, Ingles. Shop everyone else.
