Was it just me or did anyone find his signing a head scratcher? I get it if he was given a $65,000 guarantee and then is destined for Idaho but I get the feeling the kid was wanted by some teams so I think there is a little more of a guarantee than that. He was undrafted in 2012 and his stats in the DLeague haven't been wowing me. Here is a release when the Knicks brought him to camp last year.
Murry, 6-5, 190-pounds, averaged 7.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.20 steals over 20.8 minutes in five games for New York’s entry at the 2013 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, NV. He helped lead Rio Grande to the NBA D-League Championship last season, averaging 8.3 points, on 45.6-percent shooting, with 2.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.61 steals over 23.5 minutes in 46 regular season games (30 starts). He played four seasons at Wichita State University, averaging 12.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists over 29.3 minutes his senior season in 2011-12.

Just means the Jazz want big PGs and Trey is toast. (sarcasm)

Not at all. Jazz need a 3rd PG. Taking a chance on a guy they believe has potential is certainly better than going out and getting players like Watson, Tinsley, etc. If/when Exum develops, then Tinsley becomes expendable. Having a backup PG like Murry (or Clark) would allow Utah to offer Burke in a package at the deadline. Then Neto comes over next summer.
