18 guys with Oni, Teague and Alston being non-guaranteed. I'm wondering if the FO will be watching the waiver wire more closely than usual.
That might be true but I don't think anyone can make that call if the basis is watching summer league.Teague>Oni
I was just going to ask if we think that Teague or Alston have a chance of making the team or not. I thought Teague did enough in summer league to deserve the two way spot so I was surprised when we signed Justin James prior to training camp.Teague>Oni
That's how I feel. If Teague plays for the Stars we run the risk of another team signing him to their active roster at some point during the season. Unless of course we sign him to a roster spot. I thought Teague would receive the second 2-way as well. It'd be weird to sign him to a roster spot while Forrest is on a 2-way but I'm down if Teague continues to show he can play in our system and get open shots as he's a master at.I was just going to ask if we think that Teague or Alston have a chance of making the team or not. According to this article, https://thejnotes.com/2021/09/29/utah-jazz-ink-duke-basketball-big-man/ , Bolden is competing with Teague, Alston and Fitts for the final spot on the roster. Can anyone provide the skinny on the filled spots? Two ways are convertible to minimum contracts at any time and can also be waived at any time. I'm wondering if the thinking is to see who rises to the top in camp and preseason among Oni, James, Forrest, Teague and Alston and adjust the roster accordingly.
Don't trust this article. Jazz are already at 14 regular roster spots filled, but could go to 15 if they want. But they won't go to 15 because of luxury tax implications, especially for one of these guys mentioned (if someone they love elsewhere around the league becomes available they might, but that is still highly unlikely). These guys are just training camp fodder and have a good likelihood of ending up with the Stars.According to this article, https://thejnotes.com/2021/09/29/utah-jazz-ink-duke-basketball-big-man/ , Bolden is competing with Teague, Alston and Fitts for the final spot on the roster. James and Forrest are the most intriguing to me. Any chance for either of them?Don't trust this article. Jazz are already at 14 regular roster spots filled, but could go to 15 if they want. Jazz have them on two way contracts. They can play with the big team (some) already. Why would the Jazz take on additional luxury tax burden to give them a regular contract? If they show good improvement this year, their real shot for a contract comes next year.James and Forrest are the most intriguing to me. Any chance for either of them?
