Hello,

My family and I are taking a trip to Germany next week (8th to 16th) to scope things out and see if we want to move there. I have an offer from my company to go to Leipzig to run a new distribution center there, and we need to see if the whole family is on-board with this big of a move (likely to be 3 years, could be as long as 7).

Anyway, I have been going back through the Netflix thread, the TV thread and the Movies thread trying to find some good stuff we can get for entertainment on the flight (San Fran to Munich and back for the long legs, 10.5 hours. Yikes!). But going through those threads are a pain.

So to make it more concise, does anyone have any suggestions of shows or movies or what-not we can get to watch on the flight?

I know a few people have mentioned some short mini-series kind of shows (like Fargo...but I have already watched that) for example. Also trying to find things my wife and I can watch, separately from my 13 year old and her brother, who will be sharing the other laptop. So things teen appropriate are good, but also anything else for my wife and me, and we enjoy lots of different things so there are really no limits.

TIA.

I hear there is beer there

Oktoberfest. Get ****-faced and piss the wifey off. Eat a ton of varying sausages. Legit ****. Not our Americanized versions. Castles. Berlin. The forest, forget the name of it. And as much other beautiful outdoors locales as you can hit up. Do a google search.

Ok thanks so much for the suggestions. But to clarify, I am looking for MOVIES or TV SHOWS to watch DURING THE FLIGHT.

I have the tourist trap itinerary down. Yo.

Watch True Detective. I just watched the first episode. It was great

For the record there are way more sausages than most Americans can fathom. To paraphrase Futurama, the germans can conceive of wursts that would boggle your tiny minds. Extra credit for anyone who knows who said it and what episode it came from.

Love me some weisswurst, and even currywurst in berlin, not to mention awesome blutwurst and leberwurst. Mmmmm. And of course brats at the stands outside of Brandenburger Gate in Berlin.

National Lampoon's European Vacation.

I hope you'll have a good time over here! Which places are you visiting?

If you're into comedy tv series I'd recommend

You're the Worst

Real fun stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will check it out.

We are going to be mostly in the Leipzig area, but are planning a day-trip to Berlin.

Dresden is in the same Bundesland, and it's gorgeous. Check it out.

The flight isn't too bad-- are you bad at sleeping on planes? Honestly I usually can watch one movie max. Grab a book, sleep, and eat.

Since you quoted Futurama I'll limit myself to a few animated TV shows.

Adult toons
Frisky Dingo-must watch from the beginning. Too many running jokes that aren't funny if you don't.
Archer-Same as above watch from the beginning.
Aquateen Hunger Force- I would suggest Season 4.
Metalocalypse- "I do cocaine"

In Between
Batman: Under the Red hood-Loved it

Kids toons
Avatar the Last Airbender-I watched this with my daughter a few years ago. Surprisingly good.
Batman the Animated series-the one from the nineties
X-men-again from the nineties
Black Panther-It's gunna be movie

Tbh dont know a thing about Germany and no idea why anyone in there right mind would want to vacation there. It sounds about as interesting as visiting Jersey. Like, you fly there for the cheaps the taxi up to New York ie Rome Pariz excetera
