Veterans Needed

Was thinking on the last few games and I really think we need some veteran leadership. It pains me to say it a bit because it reminds me of the Ty Corbin days when we had little incentive to win but played vets ahead of developing players.

Booker is the closest thing we have to a veteran and he's been awful... not like he came from a great winning tradition either. I just think guys who know all the little tricks and how to pull out tough games really have an affect on winning.

I know we want Hayward and Favs to be those guys, but a vet to echo their voices and help with the little things would make a big difference imo. For example... as a team we have drawn 4 charges all year... just 4. Ersan Illyasova has drawn 11 by himself. I think we need someone like that to help the guys learn to do things like accentuate contact and get into position to make it look like they are getting run over. I think part of our issue is we are being out smarted.

For what it's worth in that other league last night Cooley had 22 rebounds in the game and Elliot Williams had 33 points 11 boards and 7 assists. Could they suck worse than some of our current scrubs?

Look at the teams we are competing with an look at their veteran leaders. I look at how KAT is playing and that team is out performing where most thought they would... they have a ton of vets leading those guys. I used the charges as an example of a "heady" "smart" play, but in general we just don't have the guys that make smart winning plays. I think we have loads of talent.

A bit unrelated but I'm sure if DL had a do-over of this offseason it would be much different... I'm not blaming him because we now have hindsight, but there were many guys that could have helped us at 3rd big... the pg issue is understandable because of the timing of the Dante injury.
