I hope so. That is the match-up I was concerned with. Carlise will go right at the weakest part of the defense, just like Denver tried. Lyles has to be ready to play defense, and hope is offense is on too.
Luckily I don't think dirk is really that hard to defend. I know that sounds dumb but really I think with dirk it often comes down to whether he is hot or cold on that particular night.
He doesn't really overpower you. He doesn't beat you with quickness or athleticism.
Lyles just needs to stay near him (no helping away from dirk), stay in between him and the hoop, and get a hand up/in his face. And don't go for pump fakes and give him easy ones at the line.
And make dirk work at the other end.
