We need to draft Knight and Singleton if they are available!

Just some food for thought from David Locke.

Draft Combine Athletic Numbers Comparable
May 25th, 2011

◦Brandon Knight 3.07 ¾ court sprint is the 11th best since 2000 of drafted players. Players who were in the same speed range are Russell Westbrook, Mike Conley, Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade, Speedy Claxton and Raymond Felton

◦Brandon Knight comes out less athletic than Derrick Rose but similar size and more athletic and stronger than Devin Harris and similar sized

◦Chris Singleton 3.09 at 6’9 is the fastest ever by a player taller than 6’7 (testing noted back to 2000) . Derrick Brown put down a 3.13 and Dwight Howard put down a 3.14

◦Chris Singleton has some freaky numbers. He is basically Andre Iguodala but he is 2+ inches taller.

Other interesting results:

◦Kemba Walker put up a Max Vert of 39 – the exact same as John Wall and high fliers Rodney Carney and Gerald Green

◦Kemba Walker tests out almost exactly the same as Chris Paul. Same height, 6 pounds heavier, wingspan and standing reach are an inch shorter, standing vertical the exact same, no step basically the same, max jump the same, Chris Paul did 10 benches to Walker’s 7.

◦ Derrick Williams tests out very similar to Michael Beasley and similar to Kevin Love but shorter by an inch. Similar vertical jump t both his reach is a little longer than both.

◦Jimmer vertical jump is not great but his agility testing was terrific. He comes out very similar to Toney Douglass of the Knicks and Jameer Nelson of the Magic. He is two inches taller than Nelson otherwise their numbers are similar.

i should say that Jimmer continues to impress me! His agility testing was legit! Singleton has got to be the most intriguing prospect among those projected 7-20. I like what singleton could bring to the table.

Knight and Singleton would be great if we were a track team. When was the last time the NBA finals was decided by how fast they could run 3/4 court?

If we should disregard these two players' athleticism, then lets disregard Kanter's 21 minute treadmill stint. Other than that, what has Kanter acheived to make him as a top 3 pick more palatable??

Ever coached basketball? I have had players that were good at everything else, but I could only play them in spots because they could not get back on the fast break.

Also, what is the Bull's head coach most concerned about in trying to beat the Heat? Getting back and stopping their transition baskets. Speed matters believe me.
