What happened to homecourt advantage???I

When you don't play defense....and you have 3 or 4 guys that can't make an open 15 foot jump shot more than 30 percent of the time....and your point guard is woefully inconsistent in his shooting....and your center has no concept whatsoever of how to run a pick and roll, you going to lose a lot of games on the road....and about half your home games!

Play defense against Denver = win
Play no defense agains most of the other teams = loss.

I have to say they played ok defense against OKC... OKC just hit their shots and played a great offensive game.

If you look at Jazz History most of the important losses have come out home. Even when the Jazz were almost automatic at home they still seemed to lose an important game at home.

This year the Jazz lack the talent, experience, effort to dominate at home. Now teams don't dread coming to the ESA center. Dutch I wasn't talking about one game. When the Jazz play defense and run their offense they usually win. Unfortunately, too many times they have given the effort and performed well. If this continues many teams will start laughing at us like Westbrook was.

For me one of the most frustrating things has been to watch team after team come into ESA and absolutely bury the Jazz from the 3-point line. It seems that teams come into ESA and simply can't miss from 3 point line. I mean did you see those ridiculous 3's Brooks and Lowry were throwing up the other night? Earlier Crawford and Johnson can't miss for Atlanta. Then last game Durrant, Westbrook, Maynor, and Green were shooting lights out from three. I was at the game and after every basket I asked myself, "Don't these guys ever miss?" I wonder what the Jazz opponent's 3 point % is at ESA compared to overall.

For all the handwringing we've heard hear about interior defense, it seems to me that is not our main problem this year; it is defending teams with quick or athletic guards who break down the defense and distribute to wide open teammates who then shoot outrageously high percentage from 3.

Whatever Sloan's defensive system is, it's not working. Jazz are giving up way too much from the outside, and THAT is what appears to be killing us more than soft interior D.

Of course, these are casual observations based on biased sample, so someone with actual stats might be able to counter, but by God watching this constant barrage of 3's against us is frustrating as hell.

Yeah, I hated how Westbrook was just laughing and having a great time out there. Utah needs to pick it up on the Denfensive end. I agree D = Wins. Its sad when Watsons our best rebounder :) I think Utah has some talent, coach just needs to use it different. Like play Evans, Fez, and Watson more and less Price, Memo and Hayward! Ok I might take Hayward over Bell though.
