can Joe keep this up? Can he be that third star? He's been a knock down shooter, plays smart defense, can run the offense as the point forward, and is now taking it to the hoop.

The big difference is how aggressive he's become, and seems to have a confidence we've not seen before.

Can he be that third stud next to Gobert and Mitchell at least though the rest of this season, or the next few seasons?

Thoughts...
 
I was gonna vote no.... But i cant do it. thats some bad ju ju right there. Anyone who votes no should be negged to hell. Dont **** with the streak.

Looking at the other forums after we win games I'd say he is already somewhat of a star. Every one of them mention his contributions to winning. That being said, I think in the system we have now it takes everyone doing their part and playing their role to the maximum of their ability. Gobert and Mitchell will certainly be the anchors but we need to surround them with guys who are intelligent, willing to share the ball, hardcore defenders, and putting in the work at all times. We're creating a different mold and that is what it's going to take to be successful in a small market. The trick is staying healthy and having everyone buy into it.
So, I guess I feel Joe is already a star (if defined as a player who contributes at an above average level). At least for the last few games.
 
He seems to have the ball more, and running the show more, he's shooting more, and is a dead eye shooter. The system is set up for him to be a stud on this team. I see no reason why he can't consistently score 16-20 points the rest of the year.

The jazz just lost Hood, someone needs to pick up the scoring along side Mitchell, and Joe has the ball a lot these days running the show, and he should, he's smart, doesn't turn the ball over, and looks comfortable with the ball in his hands.

That doesn’t really define a star to me. Nick collison a few years back really helped okc win and played great team ball. Definitely not a star. A star in my eyes, just like in Hollywood, is a player who has all the attention, from both sides. He’s scouted with bold font from the opposition and the centerpoint of the offense or defense from his own team. Rudy and DM fit those but I don’t think joe does. Joe is the quintessential role player.


I don’t even know if we need a third star. We just need a bunch of above average guys, for Donovan to become an elite player offensively, and for Rudy to stay an elite anchor defensively. We are going to win a lot of games with that model pending health.
 
I don't get it. "Can be" seems to insinuate a future Joe Ingles better than the present Joe Ingles. Joe Ingles is a freakin star now.
