Ryan Anderson. It is rumored that the pelicans are shopping anderson because he will be a unrestricted free agent after the year and NO might lose him for nothing. Also i believe but am not certian it would give them some tax relief this year and besides the pelicans are awful right now. They need to build a better team around the brow.

I don't know what the pelicans are asking for but the jazz have the assets to trade and the ability to re-sign him next summer.

I have gone back and forth on offering lyles because it is not guaranteed that the jazz will re-sign him. If the would take draft picks that would be awesome.

A 3 way rotation of gobert, favors and Anderson would be deadly. With Hayward, Hood and Burks holding down the wings. All would be needed is exum to come back strong a start playing more to his potential.

Any way that is my thought.

I disagree with this. Ryan Anderson would cost too much.

They'd have been so much better off signing a player like Mirza Teletovic in the offseason.

Plus Lyles isn't nearly as bad as posters here make him out to be, he makes 1 slick pass per game, he moves his feet well on defense for someone his size grabs boards... He's obviously a good fit at the top of the key in this offense and Coach Q trusts him to be a triple-threat already.

Ryan Anderson makes 8.5 mil and is an UFA after this season. There's no way they trade for him, all by himself.

This is in-part why I wanted the FO to offer Tobias Harris a max deal/poison pill in the offseason, how much more expensive would it've been?? Swap Ingles and Pleiss with minimum players and you have almost 1/3 the difference between Anderson and Harris' would be deal.. He'd still be very tradable and these obvious holes/complaints about the bigs with Rudy out would all be filled.

Burks-Hood-Hayward-Harris-Favors woulda been a formidable lineup.. Good enough to survive these injuries and make the playoffs given current conditions.

Obviously the Magic woud've matched, At lea they could say they tried to make a splash though..

Okay, master.

Yes, lyles is that bad, soft and tentative. And the typical Kentucky trap...POTENTIAL. Another whiff by DoL.

In related news, the Jazz need heart. They have none. They need passion, anger, a loud voice, a strong personality. That isn't Ryan Anderson. Jazz should aim for Kobe Bryant.

So basically, they need Rudy Gobert

I would love Anderson's game on the Jazz, but parting with long-term assets for one year doesnt make a lot of sense. We can just sign him in UFA if we want him that badly.

Why are you begging for negs?

What the season has taught me is that I am OK rolling with Exum, Burke, Neto at the point which frees up money to overspend on a third big. The problem is that this big is coming off of the bench, so we aren't getting a lot of the people that would be obvious upgrades. But yeah, that is the obvious need. Also some over the hill vets to replace Millsap and co. Someone like Foye three years ago. Hell maybe even Foye. . .

Agree. This is a wasted season with Exum going down and DL doing nothing in free agency. Jazz are better off long-term by getting a top-10 pick and then going after players like Conley and Anderson as FA's.

How many top shelf free agents are going to come to Utah for a bench role? We are going to have to get someone past their due date because a young up and comer isn't going to slot themselves behind Favors and Gobert for the far foreseeable future.

If Even Turner played for anyone else but the Celtics, I could see us overpaying him to solidify our wing position. Thing is that the Celtics have wads of cash also and much more of a need. He is their Burks.

Evan Turner might be the worst fit for us. We don't need anymore wing ball-handlers.

Jon Leuer might be someone you would consider overpaying for. Make Phoenix commit to either him or Mirza Teletovic and snatch the other with the promise of 3rd big minutes. and a lot of money.

Yeah I'm not looking at fit, I'm looking at youngish guys who can ball and wouldn't be opposed to a bench role. I suspect two years from now we won't have one of Burks or Hood. One of them will be an asset that gets moved.

You are aware that the pelicans just whooped our butts last night. I would love Anderson on the Jazz but I don't see it happening.

I agree that the jazz need an alpha dog. A guy who demands the ball down the stretch. THey also need a third big who can stretch the defense and they need a better bench. I am glad to see some people coming around on how much the Jazz miss Exum.
